Check it:
Google is using the Jabber client, as I posted earlier. So, using Trillian’s Jabber plug-in (you can also use Gaim, etc.), I tried connecting to google’s IM server using:
server: talk.google.com (it’s like Yahoo….everything is “service”.yahoo.com)
user: xxxxxxxx@gmail.com
pass: “gmail password”
And smack. I’m on. No-one to chat with (as I don’t know anyone else’s gmail account) but nonetheless, I’m on before Google’s official release. Bad ass? Yes.
