WordPress 2.0.1

…was released tonight.  I’ve been testing this over at my TextDrive space and everything was upgraded just fine.  You should have no problems.  There were several bug fixes (114 to be exact), so it’s probably something you should upgrade to.  Download here.

IE 7 – Beta 2

Downloaded IE 7b2 tonight.  I find that it’s still slower than Firefox, still doesn’t render pages correctly (IE 6 actually looked better), and once again, Microsoft is still playing catch up to open-source.  I’m not really impressed but will continue to put it through its paces.  You can download IE 7b2 here.

ThinkPad T43p

I finally got my new IBM (a.k.a Lenovo) notebook in yesterday.  I used to have a T41p, then converted over to Dell XPS-Gen2, which was over double the weight and size of my pervious machine.  Luckily I found someone to take my Dell, so I immediately went back to the old faithful.  I love the [...]

Why Bother?

Two networks, UPN and The WB, are merging to form one company.  This makes me laugh.

FullSync

Found this great little utility to sync backups of data via ftp, sftp, smb, and other protocols.  It does just about everything you could think of for a file backup solution and is open-source.  Here is the link.

Tiger Admin

I had totally forgotten about Tiger Admin ever since WordPress 2.0 (1.6 in the early days) started floating about.  I just downloaded the new version of the plugin and it’s awesome as usual.  Totally changes how the admin interface for WordPress 2.0 looks.  Highly recommend.

PDF Reader

Found a great “Foxit Reader” that is a small, fast, and very lightweight PDF reader.  Version 1.3 was just released, which allows you to write (yes, type on) any PDF.  Very cool.

TextDrive’s “Mixed Grill”

Wow! These guys never cease to amaze me. TextDrive, now owned by Joyent, has once again offered a new lifetime hosting plan. This time, they have included the use of Strongspace (online secure file sharing/storage) and Joyent email services. I purchased a VCIII lifetime hosting account sometime ago and just upgraded [...]

Chuck Norris responds…

Surely by now, you have seen some of the “Chuck Norris” facts floating about.  Well, Mr. Norris has responded to this on his website.  I’m surprised he didn’t find these facts more humerous and instead pushed his own book…typical hollywood.  Read his statement here.

Finished

Finally finished the “re-tooling” of my site.  Getting code to validate is a pain in the ass…like 3 hours worth of a pain, trying to track down why certain tags don’t validate.  On top of that, the 42% of you still using IE (*cough* Pickens *cough*) would like to actually see a decent looking site.  [...]

Pickens Update #2

It seems the good man has ordered his Trunkmonkey.  Once the new piece has arrived, the monkey will be fully armed.

Updates…

A few updates. First, I’ve re-tooled my stolen WordPress theme. I cannot complain too much, as I realize all of this is “open source” yada yada yada, nor do I want to cause a big stink. You know who you are and what you did…fuck you.
Second, Pickens had his K5 broken into [...]
