Another CSS tutorial

This is yet another great CSS tutorial.  It’s based on a theme, much like the one I have made here at Interknox.  Every step is detailed and the results are live.  Visit Albino Blacksheep to see it in action.

Software encryption

Found TrueCrypt today.  It’s a “free open-source on-the-fly encryption” software that will virtually encrypt files, mounts, disks, etc.  It will do USB flash drives or entire hard disk partitions.

Firefox…the superbrowser

This guy performed a little Firefox experiment where he took the top 100 extensions for the browser and loaded them up…all running at the same time.  Surprisingly (or not surprisingly to most) Firefox did well and was stable.  I’d like to see IE try that crap.  Read more here.

Screenshot capture

Cool piece of software (is it really cool…I don’t know) that will capture screenshots of your desktop every few seconds for a week.  It’s called TimeSnapper (for Windows) and can be found here.

I’ve been saying this for years and now (well…add another article to the list) there is a good article to back me up.  Seems VeriSign wants to control the .com’s forever.  Meaning they can raise prices to whatever level they want and no one has any oversight over them.  Crazy huh?  Read on…

Email move

I spent a few hours this weekend moving my email from Yahoo’s system over to Gmail.  Using this piece of software from Mark Lyon, I finally got everything moved.  As well, if you’re like me, you have a couple of websites and several email addresses.  Setting up Gmail for this is rather simple but I [...]

HDClone

Using programs like Ghost and Acronis to backup / copy your HDD are great.  Having the ability to use one for free on the other hand, is priceless…pun intended. Check out HDClone Free Edition.

Wallpapers for your desktop

There are a few sites that I generally visit for good desktop wallpapers, mainly DeviantArt. Although there are tons of images there, Alex (she asks for donations) has a nice site and Mandolux is worth a visit as well. These last two are “artsy” type wallpapers but they are good nonetheless.

Brokeback…to the future.

Thanks to Assman for finding this video.  Once again someone has made a movie trailer / spoof of a real movie.  Good stuff.

Best of Web 2.0

Yes, I know the “Web 2.0″ thing has now become a stupid tag for the next generation of web services, but I give you the 2006 “Best of”…here.
