As Drew pointed out, Canvas 1.1.2 is now released for WordPress 2.0. I think this will be great for some “on-the-side” designer types, wanting to do a quick blog, change things around on the fly, etc. Personally, to get a theme that you have written to work with Canvas is a pain in the ass. [...]

WordPress 2.5 to be trimmed
Hmmm…read this article over at BloggingPro that talks about WP 2.5 being slimmed down to allow for a faster-blogging engine. It seems some of the stuff I use will be removed, as well as other crap that I don’t care about (like the user manager). All of these features will be able to [...]

Spellcheck in WordPress…finally
The next update to WordPress (not due out for a little while), 2.1, will finally include a spellcheck button. It has been incorporated already into WordPress.com, so if you have an account there, check it out. As of this writing, 2.1 is only 28% done but once things really gear up, it should move along [...]

NewsForge WordPress plug-in list
The online linux and open-source newspaper has a great article on “must-have” WordPress plug-ins. I agree with most of them but I still don’t have any desire to use Ad’s on my site. I tried it once with the Box and it only seemed to slow it down. Anyway, check it out here.

WordPress 2.0.1
…was released tonight. I’ve been testing this over at my TextDrive space and everything was upgraded just fine. You should have no problems. There were several bug fixes (114 to be exact), so it’s probably something you should upgrade to. Download here.

WordPress.com Open
It seems Matt and the guys have decided to remove the “invites” over at WordPress.com for a little bit. If you ever wanted your own blog, WordPress is the defacto standard in blogging tools.
The cool thing is, should you want your own blog but cannot afford (or don’t want to mess with) hosting, WordPress.com [...]

WordPress 1.6-Alpha
I finally have a good use for that TextDrive site I had sitting around. I placed an old domain over there, fired up the ‘ol SVN, and there you go.
I have too many sites…

Akismet
For those of us lucky enough to have a WordPress.com account, I HIGHLY recommend that you get Akismet. It will nearly eliminate all trackback and comment spam on your site.
To use, first login to your WP.com (uberwerks.wordpress.com) account, click on “profile” in your admin interface and make a note of your API key. [...]

Uber @ WP.com
Yes! Tonight, I got my “golden-ticket” from the WordPress.com team. WOO! I’ve been messing with my new blog for a little bit and HOLY CRAP IT FREAKN’ ROCKS. WordPress 1.6 is looking to be the defatcto standard in blogging tools.
I’ll post more about things later, as I’m about to [...]

WordPress conditional tags
I’m no programmer or hard-core web designer but WordPress motivates me to become one. First, I created my own theme. Next, I wanted to tweak the sidebar so that when a single post, archive listing, or category listing was displayed, it would show a plug-in that I have activated called “sameCat” (via category [...]
