Iomega 1 terabyte NAS

Not sure if this price point is practical for home use, I think we could find some good uses for it at my place of employment.  A wireless NAS device that uses two 500gig drives configured for RAID 0 or 1 at $899.  Link.

Nano gets more memory

Damn it!  I JUST BOUGHT my 4gig iPod nano.  This summer Apple will be releasing their 8gig and 10gig versions.  Not that I need the space because I just have a few podcasts that I run with.  What gets me is, the 4gig will drop in price and/or become obsolete soon after.  I could have [...]

Motorola’s new phone ringer

You can set your phone to vibrate, ring, and even ring/vibrate.  Now, Motorola wants to send a mild “shock” to your body to alert you of incoming calls.  Not kidding here…they received a patent for it not to long ago.  Link.

RAZR 2

You never know if these are real or not, but Engadget seems to think they are.  Pictures produced by the same guy who first showed off the Motorola Q, now shows the upcoming RAZR 2 “Canary”, which runs Windows Mobile software.  The phone looks smaller (width), yet longer overall.

Seagate’s 750g HDD

Seagate has evidentally leaked product information on their forthcoming 750gig drives.  Running at 7200 RPM, these are said to be the first in a long line of high-cap drives coming from the company.  It’s also said there may be 1 Terabyte drive by the end of the year.  Link.

Comcast says bye bye to DVR

Well, I’m not sure how much I like this idea but it does have potential.  From a tech standpoint, it’s pretty kickass.  Comcast has now backed Cablevision’s plan to remove all DVR’s from homes, instead opting to have cable subscribers use a “software” service that stores your shows in central datacenter on your providers servers.  [...]

Fujitsu’s 200gb laptop drive

This is great news for those of us laptop users.  Fujitsu is finally releasing their 200gb drive for laptops in Q3 of this year (hopefully in the 7200rpm package).  I’m more interested in getting one of these small drives in an external drive enclosure.  Here’s the link to Engadget.

HDClone

Using programs like Ghost and Acronis to backup / copy your HDD are great.  Having the ability to use one for free on the other hand, is priceless…pun intended. Check out HDClone Free Edition.

ThinkPad T43p

I finally got my new IBM (a.k.a Lenovo) notebook in yesterday.  I used to have a T41p, then converted over to Dell XPS-Gen2, which was over double the weight and size of my pervious machine.  Luckily I found someone to take my Dell, so I immediately went back to the old faithful.  I love the [...]
